I was saddened to hear of Kay's passing. She was always a friend and lived within a few houses of ours from the third grade (Morningside, Highlands, the Junior High school and finally Edina East) until we graduated. We walked to the school bus stop together for most of those years, spent time in winter sliding the on the hills along Minnehaha Creek (particularly at Rolf Parson's home made Bobsled style ice slide). I spent the summers cutting the lawn for her parents and always thought she was a beautiful, very intelligent woman as we entered high school. Although we traveled in different circles during high school we always remained friends.  We reconnected at the 50th Reunion after all those years and it was truly a pleasure to see her, introduce her to my wife and talk about old times since Edina. Her death was a shock, as it seemed I had just seen her. A memory flashback to a time I cherished, and I will truly miss her. Rest in peace Kay, you made the world a better place. John Bergquist

Kay was one of the neighborhood kids who gathered on winter afternoons to slide down the hill in back yard onto Minnehaha Creek. She was always a delight and a great friend. I met her twice in adulthood when we recalled the fun we used to have sledding. Once we happened to run into each other when I visited the old hill with my own children and she was introducting her own to the fun. A few years ago we had a really nice chat at the 50th class reunion. Kay was a classy woman and I remember her fondly.
